Chelsea forward Timo Werner has revealed why he was not one of the players in charge of the Carabao penalty shootout. Cup where the team beat Aston Villa due to injury

However, Werner is not included in the penalty shootout list, which he revealed due to injury.
“I have a slight calf injury but I can only make three substitutions and I cannot be substituted,” Werner said.
“But when you have fit players on the pitch It’s better to let them do the job than me.”
Many jumped to the conclusion that he did not take one due to a lack of self-confidence. However, the player himself has dismissed those claims.
He confessed that he was suffering from calf pain, telling Chelsea TV and ufabet : “First of all, I had some pain in my calf, but because [we’ve used all] the three substitutions, I couldn’t [come off].
“When you have fit players, it’s better that they shoot the penalties.”
Reece James delivered the winning spot-kick on the night – sparing Ben Chilwell’s blushes after the England full-back rattled the woodwork with his effort.
Chelsea boss Tuchel said on the win: “It was a good game full of energy, good chances on both sides between two teams who tried everything to win,” Tuchel said on the Chelsea website.
“Aston Villa played very strong, like they did 10 days ago, and again today. We also did very good.
